Lyn Jansen

""I am a passionate advocate for healthy professionals, organisations and families. I enjoy working collectively and discovering creative safe, trusting connections that can have the most positive impact on communities.”"

Connecting, empowering, equipping, responding and de-escalating.

Lyn has more than 20 years experience working as a therapist, facilitator and specialist clinician with children and young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour and providing professional support to their families, schools and community.

Lyn currently offers professional development workshops for educators in Asia as well as on-call consultation support for leaders involved in managing serious incidents of sexualised behaviour between students. Recently she facilitated an one-day introductory workshop for educators through the Singapore International Schools Professional Learning Network as well as a full day workshop with the Safe Guarding Team, Leadership Team and wider staff of another large International School in Singapore in March 2025.

Lyn also works as Prevention Education Lead with the Stop Services New Zealand (www.stop.org.nz ), a specialist agency that works with children, adolescents and adults who have engaged in concerning and harmful sexual behaviour. In 2016, Lyn helped develop the Prevention Education focus at STOP, providing consultation, facilitating training and professional development presentations and workshops for professionals, agencies, early childhood centres and schools. In this work she provides guidance and support for adults navigating and complexity of incidents of sexualised behaviour between peers. This behaviour can often trigger many strong emotions for professionals, family and the community. This wide range of reactions and responses has the potential to quickly escalate into becoming a complex and risky situation if not managed professionally, calmly and effectively.

Lyn was born and grew up in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), New Zealand. She currently resides in Otautahi (Christchurch) with family. She has an education background having taught in two  secondary schools and was Head of Department of Health and Physical Education for eight years. She has a Masters in Counselling and has spent over 20 years working in the social services sector.
